Our history dates back to the late 1890\u2019s,when tea was first introduced to Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) in the central hills of Kandy by James Taylor, the founding father of today\u2019s multi billion Ceylon Tea Industry. Our great grandfather, a true pioneer and ambassador of Ceylon tea, declared his commitment to the tea industry by purchasing the first tea plantations and tea production facility in Kandy, the birthplace of Ceylon Tea. In the early 1900\u2019s our tea production facility, was one of the few tea production facilities in the country.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Today, we own one of the most modern and largest tea production facilities in the island. His love for tea transcends generations, with his family today growing, manufacturing and packing teas to offer consumers around the world, only the finest. Today, we are one of the world\u2019s few vertically integrated tea companies; we truly understand the formula of a perfect cup of luxury tea. We even design our own packaging, all planned and perfected in house.<\/strong><\/p>

Quality is an obsession Every-time you sip a cup of AZ Tea, you might it surprising to know that its actually been tasted eight times before you. Quality control is a bit of an obsession of ours. To ensure you get a proper brew every time, each pack is \u2018eight times tasted\u2019 from the harvest to the auction room, pre-shipment and landed samples to pre and post production. When testing, our tea tasters don\u2019t just sip gently – they use special spoons and noisily slurp. This ensures plenty of oxygen mixes with the tea before it passes over their taste receptors so they get the full flavor.<\/strong><\/p>

We even take our tea flavoring very seriously and not merely a fad to lure customers. Our Ginger Tea is a product of 8 weeks of trial and error to perfect the art of an authentic cup of ginger tea, similar to that made by a Ceylon mother. Our Earl Grey Tea is scattered with Cornflower petals and we use natural Bergamot essence, a super-food for the heart. AZ Tea is also distinct in being Traditional Tea that is Single Origin Tea and packed Garden Fresh. These are important because traditional tea, made in the \u2018orthodox\u2019 style \u2013 a production process that starts with handpicking the leaves and continues through withering, rolling, oxidation and firing \u2013 follows a technique perfected over centuries. It produces tea that are varied and sophisticated. The alternative is CTC, a relatively recent method of production designed to offer a quick cuppa and in the process sacrifices all that is special in tea. Je m'appelle Faizal. Mon souhait est d'offrir aux amateurs de th\u00e9 au Japon un th\u00e9 d\u00e9licieux, pr\u00e9par\u00e9 avec soin sur l'\u00eele de Ceylan, berceau du th\u00e9 noir, et de contribuer au renouveau de l'engouement pour le th\u00e9 au Japon.<\/strong><\/p>

Li\u00e9 \u00e0 de c\u00e9l\u00e8bres plantations de th\u00e9 de Ceylan, je m'engage \u00e0 vous faire d\u00e9couvrir le go\u00fbt d'un th\u00e9 haut de gamme 100 % pur et d'origine unique, cultiv\u00e9 dans les montagnes centrales de Ceylan.<\/strong><\/p>

Je suis venu au Japon pour mes \u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures juste apr\u00e8s l'\u00e9clatement de la bulle \u00e9conomique japonaise. J'ai \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le g\u00e9nie \u00e9lectrique et \u00e9lectronique et obtenu mon dipl\u00f4me d'ing\u00e9nieur. J'ai ensuite rejoint une grande soci\u00e9t\u00e9 japonaise de n\u00e9goce de semi-conducteurs, o\u00f9 j'ai travaill\u00e9 dans le marketing des semi-conducteurs et le d\u00e9veloppement de nouvelles activit\u00e9s, en parcourant le monde, notamment les \u00c9tats-Unis et l'Allemagne. Pendant pr\u00e8s de 20 ans, j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 en premi\u00e8re ligne dans de nombreux domaines : l'essor des communications par fibre optique, des ordinateurs portables, des t\u00e9l\u00e9phones mobiles et de l'audio haute r\u00e9solution, jusqu'\u00e0 la conduite autonome.<\/strong><\/p>

Depuis mes ann\u00e9es d'universit\u00e9, le th\u00e9 que je rapportais en cadeau de mes s\u00e9jours au Sri Lanka \u00e9tait salu\u00e9 comme d\u00e9licieux par les personnes qui m'avaient aid\u00e9, puis par mes coll\u00e8gues et mes partenaires commerciaux. De plus en plus d'entre eux me demandaient : \u00ab Ne peut-on pas acheter ce th\u00e9 ? Vendez-le-nous, s'il vous pla\u00eet. \u00bb J'ai \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les marques de th\u00e9 europ\u00e9ennes et singapouriennes vendues dans les grands magasins japonais et me suis convaincu qu'un th\u00e9 vraiment d\u00e9licieux n'\u00e9tait pas disponible sur le march\u00e9.
